What you are witnessing right now, on this day, is either procrastination at its finest or not so finest.
It’s not that I forgot that I was creating a weekly Ciara mind dump experience to send out to my friends and family, but for the past 7 days I would think about it and tell myself to make some notes on what I wanted to share, and I just didn’t.
TikTok got me. The Olympics got me. Work got me. And that’s okay. I hope y’all can relate.
But nevertheless I persisted.
Last night I sat down at my desk and thought about topics that I could just ramble on and really didn’t come up with something concrete but I came up with something random and a little fun… to me.
A lot of times when an artists decides to pursue their dreams they think of the actual business of said art. But what about the rest of it. When I decided to pursue theatre I was thinking about the dance of it all and the show of it all. Not about all the people I was going to meet and fun I was going to have.
However, I did know that I wanted to travel the world. So maybe I was thinking about my personal agenda as well.
I think that is important to think about when looking at certain contracts, besides the actual show what else is there to gain, geographically, socially, personally. There is more to be achieved than just a credit on your resume. And sometimes those get revealed after you arrive on the job.
